2027 Triumph Tiger 1200 revealed: more power, radar and a seat that drops when you stop
Motorcycle News ·

Triumph has unveiled the 2027 Tiger 1200, and the headline feature is aimed at shorter riders. A new automatic ride-height system lowers the seat by 30mm every time you stop.
Engine
The 1,160cc triple now makes a claimed 158 PS (about 156 hp) at 9,250rpm, up from 150 PS, with 130Nm at 6,750rpm. Triumph reworked the cylinder head, pistons and exhaust, and fitted lighter valves and more precise fuel injection. The first three gears have new ratios, and the bike keeps its shaft drive.
A lower seat when you stop
Triumph calls the system Heightflex. When the bike comes to a stop, it automatically lowers the seat by 30mm, then returns it to riding height within seconds of pulling away. Triumph says the drop is the same whether you’re riding solo, two-up or loaded with luggage. The previous system was manual and gave up to 20mm, depending on preload.
The standard seat has two height positions, 20mm apart, and an optional low seat takes off another 20mm. With the low seat fitted and the bike at a standstill, the seat can be as low as 790mm. A Centre Stand Assist function also raises the preload briefly to make the bike easier to lift onto its centre stand.
Radar and tech
Bosch radar front and rear brings:
- adaptive cruise control and group ride assist
- forward collision warning and emergency brake assist
- blind spot assist and rear distance warning
A 7-inch TFT touchscreen adds wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, with a cooled phone compartment and USB-C charging. Heated seats for rider and pillion, and heated grips, are standard across the range, along with cornering ABS, traction control and a two-way quickshifter.
The range
| Model | Wheels | Fuel tank | Wet weight |
