2027 Honda Africa Twin revealed: bigger 1131cc engine, new Enduro Sports and radar on the Adventure Sports
Motorcycle News ·

Honda has revealed the next Africa Twin at EICMA in Milan. The 2027 CRF1150L range gets a bigger engine, a lighter frame, and a third model: the off-road-focused Enduro Sports. The Adventure Sports DCT also becomes the first Honda motorcycle offered with radar-based rider aids.
Three models
- Africa Twin: the all-rounder, now with an electrically adjustable screen, Showa EERA electronic suspension with Honda Skyhook, and a smart key.
- Africa Twin Enduro Sports (new): aimed at riders who spend more time off the bitumen, with front suspension specified to match the CRF450 RALLY and rally-inspired styling.
- Africa Twin Adventure Sports: the long-distance tourer, with a 24-litre tank and a 19-inch front wheel. On the DCT version it can be optioned with Honda SENSING RIDE.
Engine and chassis
The liquid-cooled parallel twin grows to 1,131cc. Honda claims 87.5 kW at 7,500rpm and 119 Nm at 5,700rpm, thanks to the larger capacity, a higher compression ratio, revised intake and exhaust tuning and new gear ratios.
The redesigned frame and swingarm are 1.4 kg lighter than before, and a fuel sub-tank under the seat lowers the centre of gravity. Six riding modes tie together engine output, traction control, ABS, DCT and suspension settings.
MCNews has published Honda’s provisional European figures, which give these claimed kerb weights and seat heights:
- Africa Twin: 21/18-inch wheels, 18.8 L tank, 850/870 mm seat, 237 kg manual or 247 kg DCT
- Enduro Sports: 21/18-inch wheels, 18.8 L tank, 870/890 mm seat, 228 kg manual or 239 kg DCT
- Adventure Sports: 19/18-inch wheels, 24.2 L tank, 830/850 mm seat, 245 kg manual or 255 kg DCT (256 kg with SENSING RIDE)
Honda SENSING RIDE
The optional package on the Adventure Sports DCT uses millimetre-wave radar front and rear. It brings adaptive cruise control with Stop & Go, Group Ride Assist and Distance Assist, forward collision warning, emergency brake assist and collision avoidance, plus blind spot information and rear collision warning.
When will it reach Australia and New Zealand?
Honda hasn’t announced Australian or New Zealand pricing or arrival dates yet. The Africa Twin has always been a strong seller here, so we expect the range to come, but which variants and at what price is not yet announced. We’ll update this story when Honda Australia and Honda New Zealand confirm details.
