Moto Guzzi The Trip 500 revealed: the brand’s first LAMS-class bike
Upcoming Bikes ·

Moto Guzzi has revealed The Trip 500, a compact roadster that takes the Italian brand somewhere new: a parallel-twin engine and a power output aimed squarely at learner riders. The bike makes its public debut at EICMA in Milan (5–8 November 2026), and Moto Guzzi dealers overseas are expected to get it in early 2027.
A different kind of Guzzi
Moto Guzzi is best known for its transverse V-twins. The Trip breaks from that with a parallel-twin engine based on the Aprilia 457 platform (Aprilia and Moto Guzzi are both Piaggio Group brands). Moto Guzzi pitches it at riders who are new to the brand as well as existing fans.

LAMS
The Trip’s 35 kW output sits within the learner power limit used in Australia and New Zealand, and the NZ distributor has called it Moto Guzzi’s “first LAMS-class motorcycle”. However, Australian LAMS approval has not yet been confirmed for a specific model listing. Check the LAMS scheme in your state or the NZ approved list before you buy.
